Dell to Sell Infobird Cloudware

It’s supposed to be a strategic move by Dell to morph into a service provider

Dell's cut a strategic partnership with Infobird, a Chinese cloud management vendor, to provide Infobird's cloud-based Internet communication services to Dell's SME base in China.

The deal calls for Infobird to peddle Qitongbao, a SaaS cloud management platform with a contact center at its core, to Dell's enterprise clients through Dell's direct sales channels.

It's supposed to be a strategic move by Dell to morph into a service provider.

The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) reportedly came up with a long-term strategy for Dell that's supposed to produce growth for it in cloud computing, wireless and channels in the next 10-20 years, long past when many of us will care.

Dell's first move was to form a strategic CRM-in-the-cloud partnership with Salesforce.com last October. The Infobird deal is next.

The Qitongbao platform includes call center operations, customer management and sales management and it's supposed to help companies avoid missing sales opportunities, improve their conversion rates, monitor their quality of service in real-time and manage advertisement effectiveness.

Infobird president Moses Wu Yi-min said Infobird is developing other cloud tools that Dell is probably pick up.

With the new partnership, Infobird expects its revenue to increase 50% short-term. The Chinese figure, given China's 42 million SMEs, the market is worth over a billion dollars.
